Lorraine B. Quinn
April 14, 1929 – August 8, 2018
Lorraine Marie Quinn (née Bauer) passed away peacefully on August 8, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. She was 89 years old.
Lorraine was born to parents Carl and Hazel Bauer on April 14, 1929 at Royal Hospital, Bronx, NY. She grew up as the eldest of three and attended Cathedral High School. She married James Patrick Quinn on January 26, 1952 and became a widow on August 13, 1989.
Lorraine was a hard-working, very knowledgeable woman who throughout the years worked for several prominent doctors and lawyers. She also held many leadership roles, including serving as a Commissioner for the City of Largo, which she described as quite an exciting time in her life. She was honored to serve at a time when women were not that active in politics. She also served as the director of medical records in the corporate offices for a physical rehabilitation facility. Prior to her retirement, she became the director of and instructor for a private educational institution.
Lorraine was spirited and determined, witty with a sharp memory and knack for recounting stories. Her surviving family remembers her as a caring, influential aunt who encouraged them to pursue their goals. She was strong in her faith and was an active and dedicated member of the church, serving in the choir and on planning committees. She relaxed by playing Bingo and coloring, and she had a love for travelling. She is dearly missed by her loved ones.
Lorraine is survived by her best friend of 25-years, Sheila Newberry; her sister, Sally O’Brien; and many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Quinn; her parents, Carl and Hazel; and her brother, Carl W. Bauer.
As an expression of sympathy, contributions may be made in Lorraine’s memory to either Suncoast Hospice or Curlew United Methodist Church.

Lorraine was a unique and special lady, I was Blessed to have her in my life and to call her friend, I wish I would have known her sooner and longer, I loved spending time with her, visiting and listening to her tell of events in her life. I will always think of her when I eat chocolate pudding.
I love and miss you, we will meet again someday. God truly has an angel💖😇

Lorraine and Jim's house was the place to be when we were growing up in the neighborhood along Sandy Lane -- what a fun, spirited lady she was and how we all LOVED her. She taught me to bake cupcakes -- with little surprise toys inside. She listened, she cared, she made us laugh. How very blessed I am that I (and other childhood friends, Deborah and Alexa) were able to reconnect with her. One of the truly good people.
