Ouida Jean Yount, (Robbins) passed away peacefully on May 11, 2019 in Largo, Florida. Ouida Jean was born in Ponce DeLeon, Florida on October 10, 1927 to Alton and Alma Reynolds. She was raised on their farm with her 9 brothers and sisters. Loretta, Inez, Evelyn, Earl, Cora Lee, Marian, Alton, Woodrow and Sue. She graduated high school and moved to New Orleans where she met Mearion (Robbie) Robbins who was a Navy SEEBEE. They were married and lived there for some time before moving to Shreveport, LA where Robbie was raised. They worked a dairy farm for a few years before moving to Largo. There they raised their daughter Connie. Jean worked for 25 years at Universal Cigar factory in Clearwater. When she retired she spent several years as a companion and caretaker for an elderly woman in town. After Robbie’s passing she married an old family friend, Ron Yount, who preceded her in passing. Jean was well known for her outspokenness and passion for what was right. Many an official and others encountered the force that was Mrs. Robbins. Through the years Jean was known as Aunt Jean or Gran to many of the children in the neighborhood whom she welcomed into her home as her own. Their home was always filled with neighborhood children and a place of good times and goodies. She is survived by her sisters Lo, Tee, Shirley, Sue; brothers Earl and Alton, beloved daughter Connie and son in law Gregory, granddaughter Sabrina and great granddaughters Breauna and Keira, and many, many kinfolk who loved and adored her. She will be greatly missed each and every day.
