Sandra “Sam” Pontone (Ensign) of St.Petersburg, Florida. On Friday, March 10, 2017, Sam died peacefully and beautifully in the home of her daughter, Jennifer “Jenn” Miler-Most and son in law, Walter “Bud” Most of Pinellas Park, Florida . She was 68 years old. In addition to Jenn and Bud, Sam is survived by her granddaughter, Hanna Miler and her grandson, Jake Most. She is also survived by her sister, Terri Ensign of Clearwater, Florida, her brother, Jim Ensign of Ocala, Florida, her niece, Laura Henry-King of Smicksburg, Pennsylvania and many cousins and more friends than one could imagine. Sam is preceded in death by her son, Nicholas Pontone (2010) as well as her parents Norma Ensign and Lee Ensign and numerous grandparents and great-grandparents. Sam was never one to brag or complain….but she was always a great sounding board for those who were. She was a friend to anyone that had the honor of knowing her and they became better people because of it. She was a very spiritual woman and she saw the good in everyone…even when they made it difficult. She loved to write…..oh, boy did she love to write! And she also loved reading and listening to music….her collection of books and music will be cherished by those who loved her. Sam was a great lover of food, coffee and the occasional martini. But, her motto when it came to most meals was “If the package crinkles, it’s good to eat”… chips, cookies and crackers were not safe around her. There were MANY pets that called Sam’s place home over the years….Gracie, Toots, Angelo, Chin-Chin, Max, Rex….just to name a few. There must have been a BIG reunion when she got to heaven and she was greeted by that gang! Sam was witty, smart and beautiful and she will be missed greatly. But, her spirit will live on in the hearts of many! A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, March 18 at 5:00PM at the home of her daughter (9061 64th Way, Pinellas Park, Fl. 33782) All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sam's life. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Suncoast Hospice at www.thehospice.org or Florida State Animal Response Coalition at www.flsarc.org. The family would like to thank everyone that made Sam’s life a joyous celebration!
