Virginia Fields Weidemeyer Tabbutt born October 30, 1923 in Arlington County, VA entered eternal rest on February 18, 2021. She was very proud of her Irish heritage from her loving mother, Rose Nugent Weidemeyer and found a beloved step-father when Rose married Dudley Weidemeyer when Ginny was 15. Ginny was predeceased by her parents, Rose & Dud Weidemeyer, her sister, Lorraine Friedley, her son, Donald A. Tabbutt, Jr., and her grandson, Jason E. Tabbutt. She is survived by her children - Richard Tabbutt (Donna), Jackie Keselowsky (George) and Robin Bugna (Jack), sister, Rose Marie Tanner, daughter-in-law & loving caregiver, Melody McDonnell, 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ginny was a beautiful, strong and intelligent woman with a fiery spirit and temperament to match. She was a hard worker throughout her life and was especially proud of her many years as a Civil Servant secretary at the Pentagon and MacDill Air Force Base. She was so delighted when she met President John F. Kennedy at MacDill and he patted her on the head and complimented her on her beautiful red hair. Ginny ended her career as Personnel Manager at Singleton Seafood in Tampa. Ginny raised her four children mostly as a single mother, showing unconditional love and pride in their accomplishments as adults. Family was all-important to her and many happy memories remain from big family gatherings with lots of singing, eating and fun for all. She will truly be missed.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Virginia Tabbutt's name.

I Miss You Mom
I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name.
All I have are memories, and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is my keepsake with which I'll never part.
God has you in his keeping, I have you in my heart.

Mom was vivacious, energetic, and fun loving. She lived life to the fullest and loved her family so much. I pray that you are with family that has passed before you, and having a grand ole time Mom. I love you and will miss you so much.

It's hard to believe, Mom, even after 97 years, that you're gone, though you certainly earned your rest. You've always been such a strong presence in my life and there for me when I needed you. I love you and am so grateful to have had you for my Mom! I'm looking forward to seeing you again!

Ginny's smile and hearty laugh always made a gathering so welcoming and fun. Somehow we always managed to have a private talk during big parties and we never solved the world's problems but would have some good laughs. I will miss her.

Although I was not ever present in sister Ginny's life, she was always in my life. Couldn't have for a better BIG SIS and so thank her for that.
