Mr. Darvin Whiteside

Darvin Thomas Whiteside affectionately known as “Whiteside” was born November 3, 1944, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born to the union of Leander and Eloise Whiteside. Darvin was the first of three children to this union of love. He is preceded in death by his loving parents; two sisters Jacqueline Olebe and Debbie Drumright.

Darvin attended Austin High School in Knoxville, Tennessee where he graduated with a High School Diploma in 1964. Darvin left Tennessee and migrated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1968. During his younger years Darvin worked for the well-known famous Hough Bakery until he became employed at Ford Motor Engine Plant 2 in 1969. Darvin worked at the Ford Motor Company for 39 years until he retired in 2008. After retirement Darvin stayed busy by starting Whiteside’s Snow Removal. Whiteside’s snow removal company was registered with The City of University Heights for emergency snow removal.

On November 26, 2011, Darvin married the love of his life Arline Whiteside. Within this union Darvin and Arline have 9 children. In 2012 Darvin became a member of Body of Christ Assembly.

Darvin had many interesting and exciting hobbies inside and outside the house. He enjoyed car racing, riding his Harley Davidson, working on cars, and playing golf with his friends. Darvin greatest hobby was driving and showing off his 1956 Chevy Bel Air.

Darvin leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Arline Whiteside, children Darlene Waters, Darvin Whiteside, Khadijah Muhammad (Marlene), Darnetta Howard, Sharnette Love, Demond Dammons, Aaron Whiteside, Broy Whiteside, and Taylor Whiteside; Twelve grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

A visitation for Darvin will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cummings & Davis Funeral Home, 13201 Euclid Avenue, East Cleveland, Ohio 44112. A wake will occur Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Body of Christ Assembly, 20900 Miles Road, Cleveland, OH 44128. A homegoing celebration will occur Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Body of Christ Assembly, 20900 Miles Road, Cleveland, OH 44128. An interment will occur Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Cleveland Memorial Gardens, 4324 Green Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44121.
