Estell Nunley, age 101, passed away on November 1, 2023, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born on March 18, 1922, in Birmingham, Alabama to James Ben Nunley and Sophie Scott Nunley. Estell was a strong-willed, fiercely independent, and extremely generous woman. She had a giving nature and helped every person she encountered. Estell made friends quickly and was loved by all who knew her.
Estell is survived by her daughter, Leza Nunley, as well as two granddaughters, Stephanie and Felecia Nunley. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Alana, Chanelle, Parris, and Dillan, and two great-great-grandchildren, Maurice and Eli. Estell had a close bond with her family and cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all of them.
Estell was preceded in death by her sisters, Constance Arnold, Earnestine Barnes, Gertrude Cathy, and brother James Nunley. She held a special place in her heart for her family and shared many cherished memories with them.
In her professional life, Estell worked as a Nurse's Aid providing care and support to those in need. She was known for her dedication and compassion towards her patients. She also taught English and Art and enjoyed passing on knowledge to the next generation.
Estell was a member of Second Mount Olive Baptist Church, where she found solace and strength in her faith. She was an active and dedicated member of the church community and valued her spiritual connection.
Following the interment the repast will be held at St. Agnes Our Lady Of Fatima 6800 Lexington Avenue Legacy Hall Cleveland, Ohio 44103.
