Norberto was my coach back starting in 2010 with the Whitecaps. While the two of us never seemed to get along well, he pushed our team as hard as we could go, helping each one of us grow as players and young men. He would always throw a joke out every so often to pick us up when we were down. Some of my best memories from my playing days were spent under his guidance, and I will never forget him. Rest in peace Coach. To his loving wife and daughters, my prayers go out to you. Thank you for always supporting us and your dad/husband.

My son Ryan loved him as a coach when he was just a young soccer player. He is now 20. I know he learned so much from him. Ryan had his hair short but spiked on the top and Norberto would always say "you look like a cheekin!" We still laugh about that so many years later. And my son only wanted one soccer jersey, from Argentina like his coach was from, a favorite gift. So very sorry to the family for your great loss.

My son Alex (Everest ‘07) had the pleasure of being coached & mentored by Norberto. We moved to CA this summer & when we said goodbye & thanked him he thanked me for sharing my son with him. This response shows what a kind man he was. We will think of him every time Alex kicks the dandelions like he was taught by his favorite soccer coach Norberto. We are so, so sorry for your loss. We will be keeping your family in our thoughts & prayers during this difficult time.
