Jerry was loving, caring, devoted, and faithful. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. from 1951-1953 at Camp Pendleton, California achieving the rank of Private First Class. He then attended Trade School though the General Motors Corporation and worked hard as a Tool & Die Maker at both the Fisher Body Plant in Detroit and the Chevrolet Engineering in Warren from 1953 until his retirement in February of 1993.
Jerry married the love of his life, Delphine Ignatwicz, on June 25th 1955 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Detroit. He was a founding member of St. Athanasius Parish in Roseville and served as the athletic Director and Parish Council President. Jerry loved to travel with his wife. His favorite places were the New England States, New Mexico, and New Orleans, Louisiana. Jerry was an avid golfer- on a weekly gold league, CYO Baseball Coach at St. Athanasius. He loved all of the Detroit Sports and was a BIG University of Michigan fan- It was appropriate that he died on the day the Wolverines won the National Championship. GO BLUE!

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 68 1/2 years, Delphine; their children, Suzette (Carl) Peterson, Gregg Iwankowski; a grandson, Scott Peterson; many extended family members on both the Iwankowski and Nawrocki sides; and many golf buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Timothy Peterson.
Visitation for Jerry will be Tuesday, January 16th from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, Michigan. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 17 at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, 18720 13 Mile Rd, Roseville, Michigan. Interment following at Resurrection Cemetery.
