Uncle Wayne, by far my most favorite uncle. I often had a hard time connecting with family when I was younger, but never with him... always felt that comfort and home feeling. We had talks about fishing, guns, and cars. I was never afraid to ask questions and he always took time to answer in a way a young girl could understand. My most vivid memory of him was also a game changer in my life. Our families had taken our boats to the lake. Putting stuff in the boat at the dock, I fell off the back of our boat right between the dock and the motor, which was started almost simultaneously. No hesitation, Uncle Wayne dropped to his knees and yanked me out of the water by my hair... the rest of that entire trip was spent by his side, with him keeping an eye out for me. I remember his teasing and telling jokes, with a laugh that was so contagious. I am honored to be his niece and call Aunt Linda my aunt. My best friend Allen, his son, will always be my friend. With Love and adoration, Uncle Wayne, you will be missed greatly.

There are so many memories of my favorite Uncle Wayne! My mom, Frances, was his younger sister. Our families were close and we spent a lot of time together when we could! Here are a couple of my favorites:
Fishing with Wayne was an adventure. Our first family reunion at Lake Comanche I finally got to go out on the boat with Wayne and my dad - just the 3 of us. Wayne was always so excited when someone caught a fish. I reeled in a beauty of a bass and he had tears in his eyes and laughing!!
Shooting was a blast too! Shaver Lake our 2 families got together at the Dr’s condo and went shooting. I didn’t like the shotgun much since it hurt my shoulder. Wayne set me up several yards out of the way with my own target on a tree and handed me his .30-06 rifle and a whole box of light loads he wanted to get rid of. I shot that rifle until it was too hot to handle and there was no target left, just confetti!
Lots of memories on Rialto too! 😁
I will miss him so much. I know he is in heaven with Franny and Jim having a grand ‘ol time! Love you Uncle Wayne❤️

I never got the chance to meet John, but I love hearing Allen tell me stories of him coming home for lunch from school and his dad would take him fishing instead of going back to school!! My love and condolences to the Bush family.

This man is my grandfather. He was an amazing man. I remember fishing with him and playing with him. One my favorite memories is coming to visit him and we went outside and played with his dog Missy and grandpa would blow bubbles for Missy and I to chase and pop. We loved to curl up and watch John Wayne movies together. I loved to hear his fishing stories too. I will miss this man so very much. He will always be in my heart and I will cherish his memories and words of advice and encouragement. Until we meet again grandpa I love you and keep on fishing!

I first met him when Allen introduced me as his friend who was interested in his gun and weapons collection, he looked at me as I admired his arsenal and then smiled and said " Well, got any questions? I said no and he laughed like Santa Claus knowing that I was now scared. He was always welding a trailer together in the front yard or building something cool and after awhile I could see that he was just a big teddy bear. I will miss you.

I did not know Wayne long as most, but I can tell you from the very moment I met him you could see the light shinning from this old sole. My family was blessed to meet him at church and my favorite memory is sitting anywhere near him while we sang. Oh how he loved the music! The very best part of our visits were the hugs......oh so real, oh so amazing! I shall forever hold you in my heart!! Thank you Carolyn for sharing your daddy with us, Heaven gained an amazing man!
