February 23, 2021
Gabriel Jace Fiegener, unexpectedly left this world on February 23, 2021 in Rosenberg, Texas. Gabe was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a self-proclaimed minimalist having little use for knick-knacks or other worldly trappings. He was an avid gun enthusiast and spent much time fine-tuning his expertise. He reloaded his own ammunition and tirelessly researched the best and most accurate way to set up a rifle. He was an excellent shot and loved to share that hobby with others. Gabe also loved a good road trip and would drive hours on end to visit friends and family and discover his own adventures.
Gabe loved sports. He played baseball, soccer, football and golf as a youth and played ice hockey in college. And, when wasn’t he wearing a cap or t-shirt emblazoned with the logos of the Houston Texans, the Astros or the Texas Longhorns? HOOK ‘EM HORNS! As a kid, Gabe cheered on the Houston Oilers at the Astrodome. As an adult, he spent Sundays with the family rooting for the Houston Texans. His emphatic sports commentary will be dearly missed…like smoke through a keyhole.
Gabe graduated with a degree in communications from Texas State University. Before settling into his career in logistics at Kirby Inland Marine in Houston and later at Frito Lay in Rosenberg, Gabe dabbled in several fascinating roles including filmmaker, television news editor and producer, deckhand and even locksmith when he lived in Australia.
Friends and family will remember Gabe as a loyal, dependable and attentive man. He was always willing and to lend a hand and care for others. Gabriel showed his love through his actions, by doing for others and always showing up.
Gabe was born June 13, 1979 at the Dow Chemical Hospital.
He is survived by his mother, Debi Fiegener, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; father and step-mother, Dale and Linda Fiegener, of Richwood, Texas; sister, Farrah Fiegener, of Phoenix, Arizona; step-brother, Roger Harper and wife, Wren, of Richwood, Texas; step-brother, Jason Harper and wife, Cheryl, of Kyle, Texas; nephews, Ian Harper, of Richwood, Texas and Christian Harper, of San Marcos, Texas. Gabe has many aunts; uncles; and cousins, all located in Oklahoma who will miss his quick wit and smile as much as we all will.
A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 6th at noon. A Remembrance Reception and Celebration of Gabe’s life will take place immediately afterward at the home of Dale and Linda Fiegener in Richwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity in Gabe’s memory.
Though our hearts are broken by this tragic loss, its comforting to know that Gabe is playing with the pets he loved so much and bringing joy and laughter to the grandparents he knew and those he didn’t. Its comforting to know that he is in a place of peace, health, light, love and goodness.
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5
