He graduated from Electra high school in 1943, highest grade of the boys. Joe attended the College of Liberal Arts, in Sevierville, TN and then Stamps School of Music, Dallas Texas. He sang bass in quartets in several states from 1942-1946.
Joe served in the Army Air Force, two years during WWII. Moving to Ft. Worth in 1946, where he worked in Quality Control 15 years at General Dynamics. In August 21, 1946 Joe married Annie, they moved to Hurst Texas in 1953, where he helped start the Hurst Church of God in 1957. Joe sung with a trio and the choir since that date. In 1962 Joe transferred to Bell Helicopter, as an Aircraft Inspector and advanced during the next 28 years to flight Inspector. He retired in 1991 after delivering the first X-15 Tilt Rotor Aircraft to NASA, Edwards Air Base. Joe also worked on the V-22 Tilt Rotor Aircraft.
Joe was a member of the Church of God since 1940 and a church Clerk since 1957. He was the local mission representative for World Missions and traveled to Mexico and Paraguay. His aircraft work took him to Iran during the Shah’s Reign. Joe enjoyed making home movies and traveling to many states and Canada.
Preceded in death by his parents: Thomas F. and Mary (Barrett) Trentham. His son, Jimmy Wayne Trentham, and Daughter in-law, Phillis (Montague) Trentham. Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years. Brothers: Frank Trentham, Jerry Trentham, sisters Emily (Trentham) Hamby. Grandchildren: Darrell W. and Misty Trentham, Jeffery A. and Valerie Trentham, Corbyn A. and Jennifer Trentham, Tara C. (Trentham) and Dan Kersten. Ten Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins and loving friends.
