Mary Elizabeth (Collins) Mullings of Grapevine, Texas went home to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, December 6th at the age of 81 while surrounded by close friends and family. Mary was born on March 26th, 1942 in Isom Kentucky. She moved to Fort Worth, and in 1958 married the love of her life, Wayne Mullings. They lived in Grapevine where they raised their family, and enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Wayne passed in 2013, and Mary moved to her daughter’s home in Haslet, Texas in 2017.
Mary was known for seeing the best in others, loving people exactly how they are and showing them that Jesus did too. She said that she knew how to love others because Jesus had always loved her so well. Mary was always looking for ways to help others and gladly shared whatever she had. She was honored that so many loved ones referred to her as their “second mom.” She loved each of her grandchildren fiercely and cherished every moment of their time together.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Doug) Alderink, four grandchildren, Reagan (Corey) Dufresne; Hayden (Emily) Alderink; Avery Alderink; and Addison Alderink, son, DeWayne Mullings, and a sister, Barbara Sutton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wayne “Red” Mullings, son, Christopher Mullings, parents, Callie Collins, Charlie & Leola Collins, and seven siblings.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation with the family on Thursday, December 14th from 5:00-7:00 and The Celebration of Mary’s Life on Friday, December 15th at 11:00. Both services will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Boulevard, Colleyville, Tx 76034.
