He was born in Loraine Texas on March 26, 1947 to Audie Lee and Jean Reid Boyd.
Archie was a good Christian man who loved his family with all his heart. He was the type of man that was very giving, if he had something and you needed it he would make sure that you did not go with out. He enjoyed many things throughout his life, especially cooking for his family. He drove truck for many years until he retired. After retirement he could be seen with his wife traveling all around in his R.V., spending time with his family, and he was always looking for a good deal on Amazon. He will be missed by many, especially by his kids and his wife who he adored.
Archie is survived by his wife Cheryl Boyd of Colorado City and by his children; Steven Lee Boyd and wife Amanda of Colorado City, Anthony Barron Boyd of Ft. Worth, Jamie Mendoza and wife Roni of Richmond, Sherry Louise McDonald and husband Brian of Allen, and Heather Gonzales and husband Isaac of Sugar Land. He is also survived by his brother Barron Lynn Boyd of Bronte, by his sisters Marie Boyd of Colorado City and Carolyn Jeter and husband Vick of Colorado City, and by several grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A memorial service for Archie will be held at the 1st Baptist Church of Colorado City on Saturday, May 5th at 2 pm with Doctor Jerry Shields officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
