Jack A. Gossage
November 11, 1934 – November 5, 2019
Jack A Gossage went home to the Lord Nov 5, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He was born Nov 11, 1934 in Colorado Springs, CO. He was the oldest of six children born to the late Jake & Sue Gossage. He is finally back with his beloved “Wan” and sons “Craiger” and Chris.
He called Colorado Springs home his whole life and this is where he met his wife Wanda Chase Gossage and raised his four boys. Jack worked for the City of Colo Springs for 28 years starting in the forestry division and making his way to the electrical department.
Jack loved the outdoors, hunting, a lush green lawn and baseball.
He spent many hours working on his yard to make sure it was pristine. Many a stranger would stop and take pictures.
Jack was a great story teller and would entertain us with hunting stories and stories of his youth. You just had to laugh and wonder how they survived. He loved going out to Eckley to pheasant hunt. When he was physically unable to go he would hound the guys for every detail of the trip, where’d ya go, how many birds, who got the most etc, etc.
He loved baseball. Specifically the Yankees. He could talk for days about baseball and rattle off stats of the greats and not so greats. One highlight of his life was going to Cooperstown where he got to meet many of those greats and see his brother inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was so proud of his baby brother!
Jack leaves behind many who will miss him. His sons Steve (Carla) and Scot, grandchildren Eric (Kristi), Kevin (Valerie), Landon and Rhiannon, eight great grandchildren, his siblings Kate, Paula and Rick; as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
