Dear Darryl, Duane, and Mardee from your cousin Don Deighton. Your mother lived a full life. I still remember visiting with her last in 2006. She mentioned things that I long forgot. Claire and I are thankful for her full vibrant life and love for her family. Her husband Verne, brother Clarence, and my dad Clyde were all part of that generation. Thanks to all who preceded us for their hard work in the American spirit. May God Bless Joy for her family dedication and Life.

JAMES A MARPLES

February 15, 2011

Hello,

I am saddened to hear of the death of Joy Deighton...who was a 1st cousin to MY Mother, the late Gloria (Riedl) Marples.

Joy & Gloria's mothers were sisters to each other via the "HAMPEL" line of the family which was from around the Olmitz and Great Bend areas in Barton County, Kansas.

On various occasions: I would drive my Mom & myself out to Colo Springs to see mom's twin Dolores (Riedl) Myers who lived in that city, too. We would visit with Joy on almost every occasion we could. ...and I also drove over to Joy Deighton's house a couple of times 'solo' myself, after my mom's death. Joy Deighton was a charming Lady. She had a good head for business-matters......and always remembered her family roots ---whether it was Kansas or her birth in Canada.

She will be missed.

May Almighty God bless her whole family, and bring them peace.

Kind regards from your cousin,

JAMES ADOLPH MARPLES
