A magnificent lady, mother, real-estate broker, music teacher, and grandmother passed away July 15th, 2018. Pennie Lee Pierce-Long ascended Sunday evening from Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO.
Pennie was born in Port Arthur, Texas on June 8, 1952, and grew up in Port Neches, Texas. After High School she went to the St. Louis Institute for Music where she graduated with a degree in music. Her passion for piano brought her to teaching music to young children as she was taught by her late mother. She also had a passion for Real Estate and helping people find their dream home; so, she became a Broker and through her travels in life she found families their dream homes in Iowa, Nebraska, and Virginia. Later she became a mortgage broker where she again was able to ensure families had the opportunity to get into a home. Pennie always loved animals especially her fur babies which were her dogs (Ben, Beau, and Ollie). She enjoyed going to confirmation dog shows where she both showed and groomed her beloved boys. Pennie enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, working on educational projects, cooking, dressing up and of course shopping. Her true passion was not for herself but to love and care for others, always putting their needs and desires ahead of her own. Pennie loved life and lived it with gusto despite being a severe asthmatic and suffering from chronic back pain.
Pennie was preceded in death by her parents, A.E. (Tony) Jr. and Marjorie Pierce. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Long. Her son, Edwin Pierce and his wife Catherine Pierce, along with their two children Elizabeth and Michale. Her two step daughters, Andrea Tomgenovich and her children, Madison and Caleb; Angela Valdez and her husband Jason Valdez, and their daughter Isabella. She is also survived by her two sisters; Paula Armstrong, Bonnie Wood and niece Annie Wood.
