Priscilla Salazar went to be with our Lord on February 15, 2021. Priscilla was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Jose T. (Tom Salazar), her parents Frank and Josephine, brother Henry Trujillo, and finally, her great-granddaughter Emma Salazar. Priscilla was brought into this world on July 26, 1937, by the union of Frank J. Trujillo and Josephine Trujillo (Mondragon) in Ranchos De Taos, New Mexico. Priscilla passed away peacefully on February 15, 2021, with her family by her side. Priscilla is survived by her brothers- Lee (Lito), Jose (Roy), and Frank Trujillo, her children Greg (Yvonne), Tom (Mary), Francisco, Ron (Andrea), Dee Dee (Steven Scott), and Josephine (David Rodriguez). She also is survived by 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Priscilla met the love of her life- Tom, in 1959 while attending college in Pueblo, Colorado. They were married on August 13, 1960, and they spent the rest of their lives not only committed to each other but their entire family. Mom loved her family and would often times bake and cook enough to ensure that everyone had plenty to eat. Holidays were a big event for our mother. Mom would make tamales, potitisa bread, red chile, mashed potatoes with all the fixings. Mom loved cooking and canning, and she passed on her love of her craft to her children who love to cook. Priscilla worked for Harrison School District 2 for 20 years as a bilingual teacher’s aide and retired in 1996 to devote the rest of her life taking care of her “viejito” and caring for her grandchildren. In March of 2020, mom became a resident of Mount Saint Francis nursing center. During the past year of the pandemic, it was quite difficult to visit mom because of COVD-19. However, during our short visits, mom was always upbeat and enjoyed watching the deer, listening to Spanish music and being outside in the warmth of the sun. Mom, you will be missed by your entire family because you touched us all with your loving hand and your compassionate and generous smile. Thank you for being our mother- may God bless you and guide you during your amazing journey to rest with dad and our Lord. In lieu of flowers, please make a monetary donation to either Catholic Charities, or Mount Saint Francis Nursing center 7550 Assisi Heights, Colorado Springs, Co. 80919.
