Alida Prats, 94 years old of San Bernardino, California passed away at Loma Linda University Medical Center on March 18, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born in Sabadell, Spain, on October 28, 1919, to Federico and Alida Prats. She is preceded in death by her husband Angel Iranzo Carpio and is survived by her daughter, Alida Osorio (Joseph), grandson, Ruben Osorio, M.D., granddaughters, Dina Rappette and Esmeralda Dinnel.

Alida worked in a high fashion custom made hat boutique, owned by her Tia Rosa, also known as Madrinita, the person who raised her after she became an orphan at the age of 13 years.

They were introduced to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in the early 1950's, do to their nutritional principles, eventually they converted and attended the church of Urgel. Approximately 15 yrs later a young Seventh Day Adventist minister, Dr. Jose Osorio would meet and later marry their daughter Alida.

After Hats lost their popularity in the high fashion world, Angel and Alida opened Santiveri, a health food store, in Badalona in the late 60's, which they owned and operated for 20 years.

Our grandma was an elegant, social, vibrant and fun loving individual. She loved to travel, ski, hike and swim in the ocean. She was an avid reader and music lover of operas and zarzuelas. She was a great cook and passed on recipes that all of us still use today. She enjoyed knitting and crochet, and our family's homes are full with her sweaters, blankets, table doilies, and many other crafted items of clothing. She had a great sense of humor and frequently played pranks and was the life of the party. She enjoyed good health and traveled by herself as recent as February of this year.

Our grandma was a loving, caring and generous individual. The last decade of her life was dedicated to the care of her daughter, who was diagnosed with ALS. When she was not able to physically assist with her care, she always insisted on being by her side.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014, 4 p.m. at Montecito Valley View Chapel, 3520 E. Washington St., Colton, California.

Her loving outgoing and optimistic personality will be missed by all of us.

Arrangements under the direction of Montecito Memorial Park & Mortuary, Colton, California.

Alida, te has ido inexperadamente
y has dejado la casa mas vacia y
mas sola, se nota la falta de tu
presencia diaria. Tu hija Alida
Tu
hija Alida recuerda como todas
las noches le ivas a dar un beso
en su mano antes de irte a dormir.
Cada noche me decias ": Jose,
dime como esta mi hija? Si
necesitas algo,llamame,y vengo..."
Alida, fuiste como una verdadera
madre con tu hija y conmigo en
todo,y eso no esta en fotografias
sino en nuestro Corazon.Imposible
borrar las buenas memorias de una
vida en familia contigo... Nos has
dejado,pero como tu decias,' he
vivido mucho, bien y estoy feliz',
te lo merecias.Has dejado muchos
Buenos amigos, admiradores de tu
agradable personalidad y, sobre todo,
nietos y viznietos que perpeturan tu
recuerdo de generacion en generacion.
Te queremos Abuela nos vemos junto
al rio celestial. Maranata!!!!

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.

As Alida Prats being my great-grandmother, I looked forward to seeing her every year and looked up to her, as she had many things to tell and show. I have many nice memories of her and my family & friends together in fellowship and fun, including items that she gave me personally. I know she will be safe now and when the day comes we will all see her again. I miss you Bis-Yaya & love you very much!!! I can't wait to see you again when Jesus returns. Te quiero mucho y adios!

Querida Abuelita:
