OBITUARY

Mary A. Altvater

December 25, 1924August 24, 2011

On August 24, 2011, Mary Annette Altvater, beloved wife of the late Edgar J. Altvater, Jr., passed away. Loving mother of Barbara Johnson and husband, Charles, Catherine James, John Altvater and wife, Joann, Mark Altvater and wife, Donna, beloved grandmother of; Karen, the late Carol, Candiss, David, Tara, Jeanette, Janet, Brandon, Heather, Adam, and twelve great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Altvater was part owner of the National Pike Crab House in Howard County and House of Crab’s, Ocean City, Maryland. She was also a former member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Catonsville, Maryland. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Ocean City, Maryland; President of AARP for 2 years, an Elks member, and a senior citizen dance group member that performed at different events in Ocean City. Mrs. Altvater enjoyed playing cards, bowling, golfing, traveling and visiting Las Vegas.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., WITZKE FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 5555 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, MD, where funeral services will begin at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, Maryland.
