Katie Hutchen gained her angle wings on January 21st, 2022. Katie was born to Adgie and Inez in South Carolina on January 27, 1936. Later, Katie relocated to Columbia, Mo where she built her home and worked for Columbia Public School for 28 years before retiring. In her spare time Katie loved to knit, cook, and travel. Katie traveled the world enjoying many adventures, her favorites were Jamaica and Australia. She loved Australia so much, she even named her cat Sydney. On many occasions you would find Katie watching the birds or listening to her music dancing the night away. Katie lived a peaceful and heartfelt life. No love went ungiven.
Katie’s legacy loves on through her surviving family members, her sister Shirley and her grandchildren, Sean, Joy, and Charlie. Katie was a strong believer in the importance of family and spending her time with loved ones. Katie was known for her strong facial expressions and truthful tongue. Complimented with her words of wisdom that always highlighted the best in every situation and left you feeling empowered. Katie’s hug could cure the toughest days and grant a sense of safety in a troubled world. Katie Hutchen will be greatly missed.
