Marty raised her children at home volunteering countless hours to the Camp Fire Girl’s Organization as a group leader and the President of the Columbia Council. Once her youngest daughter left for West Junior Hight School she worked as a bookkeeper at D&H Drug Store for the next 25 years. During her life, she was actively involved in her community volunteering as the President of the Women’s Cosmopolitan Breakfast Club and at Boone Hospital Gift Shop.
She loved her First Presbyterian Church family and was actively involved teaching Sunday School for 35 years, serving as an Elder, Deacon and Trustee; generously giving her time and resources to the church and many other organizations.
Marty loved life and lived it passionately; even zip-lining in Panama at 85! She was a dedicated Cardinal fan and a 54-year season ticket holder for the Mizzou Tigers. She was a lifelong learner and cat lover who enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, traveling, playing bridge and entertaining in her home.
