Richard “Dick” L. Anselm, 72 of Columbia, MO died of brain cancer surrounded by loved ones at his home on July 16. 2021. Visitation will be Monday, July 26, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 10:00 am at Lady of Our Lourdes Catholic Church, Columbia, MO. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
The son of Joseph “Mel” and Geraldine Anselm, he was born in Cape Girardeau, MO on July 18, 1948. He grew up in Springfield, MO and resided in Columbia, MO for the last 37 years and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Dick worked as an insurance agent for over 40 years and retired by selling his agency, Anselm Insurance Solutions, in 2018. Dick volunteered for the Muscular Dystrophy Association for the past 43 years. He was also an avid golfer and played regularly with friends visiting different golf courses in the area.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph “Mel” & Geraldine Anselm.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dianna Anselm, Columbia, MO; son, Shane and his wife Janet Anselm, St. James, MO; daughter, Amy Anselm and fiancé, Brad Clark of Columbia, MO; stepsons, Brian and wife Mendy Diel, Columbia, MO, and Matthew Diel, Columbia, MO; two sisters, Carolyn and husband Bruce Fetter, Springfield, MO and Mary Kay Markwardt, Springfield, MO; four grandchildren, Corinne Anselm, Haley Diel, Maddie Diel, and Bradley Clark; three appointed grandchildren, Alexander Gardner, Gretchen Gardner, and Margaret Gardner; and several nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
