Ronnie Betz, 71, of Kingdom City, formerly of Columbia, passed away, Saturday, December 9th 2023. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Ronnie was born, September 8, 1952 in Columbia to John Meade and Mildred Lee Betz Crane. He was a 1970 graduate of Hickman High School. After graduating he joined the Army National Guard, and was nearly the fourth son of John and Mildred’s to be drafted into the Vietnam War. He served six years working in technology and communications. Over the years, he worked several jobs, but made his career at the University where he work as an administrative assistant until he retired. He was a very talented musician, and played both the piano and guitar. He was also a song writer and had some of his songs recorded. He was an avid reader and enjoyed classic novels and history books.
He is survived by his siblings, John (Peggy Gray) Betz, Danny (Patty) Betz, Vickie (Charlie) Williamson, Donald Betz & companion Sarah Silvey all of Columbia, and Roger Betz of Colorado; many nieces and nephews, and a loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Kathy Norman.
