Tiry was born on May 19, 1942 in rural Columbia, MO the first son of Marion and Wilmoth (Bennett) Crane who preceded him in death. He was raised on the family farm with his five siblings near Pierpont, MO and graduated from Hickman High School in 1960. He worked at various occupations during his lifetime, including concrete construction, restaurant ownership, food sales and food production. He retired from Burgers Smokehouse, California, MO in 2007. He was married several times and had five children. Tiry then married on December 21, 1993 to Patty Shock in Jefferson City, MO.

Tiry was a big man, unpolished and impulsive. He was incredibly honest and gullible. He thought fast and talked faster and was extremely friendly and no one remained a stranger for long. His passions were fishing, hunting, music and playing games. He deeply loved his family and truly wanted everyone to be happy.

In August of 2003, Tiry surrendered his life to the Lord at a fellowship meeting in California, MO. Changes soon began. He opened his heart and home to everyone, sought to be a help to anyone in need. The Gospel story was precious to him and he shared his testimony with anyone who would listen. He remained faithful to his profession until his death.

Survivors include: his wife, Patty Crane of the home; his five children, Cindy Falco (Joe) of Columbia, MO, Christy McDow (Mark) of Columbia, MO, Angelina Gonzalez of Hallsville, MO, Tiry Crane II of Albuquerque, NM, and Lacy Crane of Udall, KS; two brothers, Tim Crane (Loretta) of Columbia, MO and Jeff Crane (Rena) of Columbia, MO; two sisters, Glenda Salmon of Columbia, MO and Becky Strawn (Keith) of Columbia, MO; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Patty and Family....Tiry will certainly be missed by all who knew him, especially all his family. He was such a joy to be around. We have such fond memories of the times he was at Keith and Beck's and all the laughter he and Jeff would share. Tiry always had a quip to come back with to keep us in stitches. We always thoroughly enjoyed his music also as well as your playing and the family singing. What a talented family!!! May you and the family find comfort in all the wonderful memories you can share!

My condolences to family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with Tiry at Burgers' Smokehouse for several years and truly appreciated his zest for life and sense of humor. Even after retiring he would come by the Smokehouse ever so often to say hello, share some tall tales, and sell a few bags of dog food. Rest in peace my friend with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I’ve known Tiry just about all my life. Since his passing, I’ve had several memories of our history together go through my mind. My favorite would probably be when I was turning 12 or 13 Tiry and Marvin McDow came to the house and we had a guitar singing jam session. It was so much fun, and my Mom, who had cancer, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Rest In Peace my musical buddy, I’ll never forget you. 😢
