COLUMBIA – Services to celebrate the life of Cornelia Self Torre, 92, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Crescent Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Torre passed away, Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Born in Bishopville, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Columbus and Nannie Viola Hall Self. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her two sons and two grandchildren. She lived for, and loved to be surrounded by her family.
She was married to renowned bandleader, Tony Torre, Sr. who passed away in April 1992. She and her husband were also owners of several Columbia restaurants.
Surviving are her sons, Tony W. Torre, Jr. (Mellie) of Columbia, Greg M. Torre of Atlanta, GA, two grandchildren, Robert Anthony Torre and Lacey Michelle Carpenter, two great grandchildren, Logan Anthony Stout, 15 and Allena Brooks Stout, 12, and a brother, Thomas W. Self of Dunnigan, CA.
