CAYCE - A funeral service for Louise Rollande Kangas, 74, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service

Mrs. Kangas passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 after her second battle with breast cancer. Born September 10, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Donat and Bertha (Choquette) Ferland.

Louise graduated from St. Mary’s School of Claremont, NH in 1962, where she ran for student council and was the senior class prom queen. Being a military spouse, travel often took her to many places overseas, including Panama, Germany and Spain. She lived a full life surrounded by friends and travel. Everywhere she went, she touched the lives of so many. She retired from Publix in 2012 after 11 years of service with them.

She is survived by the love of her life and best friend, Gary W. Kangas I of Cayce; son, Gary W. Kangas II of Cayce; grandson, Skyler N. Glidden of Columbia; sisters, Roseanne LaCasse of Claremont, NH, Jackie Fleming of Worcester, MA and Annette Lepkowski of Skowhagen, ME; brother, Ronald Ferland of North Charlestown, NH; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Dianne Walker and David LaCasse of Claremont, NH.

She is predeceased by her brothers, Richard Choquette and Rene Choquette; sister, Lillian Brassaw; and daughter, Karen Glidden.

In lieu of flowers, Louise’s wish was that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 East 56th Street, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10022.
