COLUMBIA – Margaret “Marsie” O’Brien Pulford, 75, died Friday, June 4, 2021. Born in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Thomas O’Brien and Katherine Walsh O’Brien. She attended St. Mary’s in Shenandoah, PA, and Misericordia University in Scranton, PA.

Marsie loved life and liked to be with her nieces, school children, and colleagues. A school teacher for 49 years, she traveled extensively around the world and taught in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Iran, St. Croix, and at her beloved Heathwood Hall for 33 years. She was an excellent teacher and won many awards for excellence in teaching. A life well lived, full of great memories and experiences, she was a jewel to all who knew her.

Surviving are her husband, John Dekoven Pulford; two nieces, Beth Ludovicy and Amy Delie (Rob); a great niece; and a great nephew.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary Kay Ludovicy.

A private Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Memories may be shared at
