Homer C. Anderson, 87, passed away on December 5, 2012. Memorial services will be held at Cusseta United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM. The family will greet friends at 166 Box Springs Rd., Cusseta, GA 31805 on Friday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
Mr. Anderson was born November 8, 1925 to the late Coy Allen Anderson and Ethel Mears Anderson in Detroit, Michigan. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served during WWII as a navigator in a B-17 Flying Fortress. He received many awards, most notably the Purple Heart and the Air Medal w/ 5OLC. Upon leaving the military, Mr. Anderson began a career with the United States Postal Service beginning in 1952 until his retirement as Postmaster in 1977. In 1945, he married the love of his life, Willene Anderson, who he depended on for her support and love until her passing.
Survivors include his daughters, Wilhemina and Ted Mueller of Cusseta, GA and Angela Williams; two grandchildren, Kimberly and Renee Williams; two brothers, Norman Anderson and his wife, Kay of Mission, TX and Nolan Anderson and his wife, Linda of Yuma, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
