He was born February 9, 1929 to John and Elizabeth Scudder. He was the thirteenth of fifteen children. After the death of his biological mother he was adopted by Veraldo and Laura Deiwert at age 3 years.
He was a lifelong CUBS baseball team Fan. He coached little league baseball in Columbus for several years. He loved listening to music and was a fan of Frank Sinatra. He also enjoyed NASCAR and was a big Tony Stewart fan.
He was the co-owner and co-operator of BROWNIES Poultry Market in Columbus until its closure in 1972 due to health issues.
He married his wife of 72 years, Sheila Redman, on June 18, 1948 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Theresa Deiwert; several nieces and nephews from his Scudder family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Lynn Deiwert; his adoptive parents; local brothers from his Scudder family, Paul Young, Kerry Leland Hull, and John Deiwert.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no funeral service or visitation. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.
