Loretta Mae Baker, 88, of Nashville, formerly of Home Avenue, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011, at Brown County Health & Living Center.
Mrs. Baker was a member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Steve Russell officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Cancer Society.
Born in Brown County April 26, 1923, Mrs. Baker was the daughter of Oscar L. and Anna Miller Smith.
She is survived by a son, Larry (Lura) Baker of Nashville, with whom she had made her home the past several years; a sister, Sandra (Kenny) Cox of Nashville; a brother, Phillip (Bev) Smith of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett F. Baker; daughters, Brenda S. Baker Allen and Charlotte Baker; sisters, Shirley Whittington and Beatrice Passwater; and a brother, Lee Smith.
