In 1950, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served in the Korean War as a member of the 24th Infantry Division. He worked as a Business Agent for the Teamsters Union Local 135 and retired in 1980.
Roy was a long time member of Community Church of Columbus. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 24 and The Moose Lodge number 398.
Roy is survived by his partner, Patti Voelz; daughters, Delores A. (Larry) Massey, Sandra J. (Jeffery) Smith, and Tammy J. Troy ; his brother, Albert B. Sexton; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Pamula J. Neace , and Deborah R. Sexton; a brother, Henry L. Sexton; sisters, Virginia Davenport and Kathleen Boston; and son-in-law, Dennis Troy.
