

She was born in French Lick, Indiana February 25, 1923, the daughter of Mally and Myrtle Simmons Holland. She married Joseph J. Phillips in Loogootee, Indiana May 26, 1945; he preceded her in death September 22, 1987.
During WWII Mrs. Phillips worked a Crane Naval Depot folding parachutes. She attended the Wesleyan Church, liked to read and made beautiful dolls.
She is survived by son, Larry W. (Karen) Phillips of Elizabethtown, IN; daughters, Anita R. (Donald) Nugent of Columbus, Carol S. (Rick) Wade of Scipio, Cathy J. (Tom) Bryant of Columbus and Connie L. Flores of Columbus; brothers, Jim (Rhea) Holland and Donald (Pat) Holland both of Washington, IN; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Howard and John Holland.
Funeral 1:00 p.m. Monday Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Rev. Wesley Jones officiating. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery. Calling 1~5 p.m. Sunday and from Noon to service time Monday. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com.
