

Fred Snider, Jr., 91, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 in Biloxi, Mississippi at the Veterans Administration Center. He was born May 9, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Fred and Pearl (McNabb) Snider, Sr. He served in the 71st combat infantry division in WWII as a Tech. Sargent. During his time in Europe, he met and married his wife, Janina who was a displaced person from her family and country of Lithuania. Fred retired after 25 years with Atlas Linen and then owned Fred and Jack's Used Cars. His entire life he was a huge NASCAR fan, loved street rods, and a strict Chevy's only man. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Janina; son, William Jeffrey "Billy" Snider; and brothers, Robert and Charles Snider; sister, Mickey and brother-in-law, Edward Warren. Fred is survived by his 3 children, Lee Torchia of Mobile, AL, John (Dee) Snider of Grove City, OH, and Jayne (Ronnie) Lovejoy of Galloway, OH; grandchildren, Laura (Gil) Arrington, Alan (Kim) Torchia, Sherry (Chad) Lautenschleger, John (Jessica) Snider, and Jamie-Lee (Brian) Thompson, Jennifer (Chad) Dorrell, Christina (Brandon) Bailey, Cathy (Nathan) Wheeler, and Jessica (Jeffrey) Rosebrook; sister, Carol Sue (Terry) Romine; sisters-in-law, Kathy Snider, Nancy Snider, Cora Snider; brother, Jim Snider; and a ton of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City where funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
