Born in Concord on February 1, 1918, he was the son of Manuel and Lena (Wrisley) Amrol.
He work for Merrimack Farmers and was the owner of Suburban Lumber Company for 35 years.
He was a World War II Army Veteran.
Mr. Amrol was a city Tennis champ for 10 years in doubles and for seven years in singles. He was also State Tennis Champ for nine years in doubles and seven years in singles. He also loved to play cards with friends and was an avid sports fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics.
Survivors include his son John Amrol and daughter Karen Dolan, Rod Hooper and Linda Amrol, four grandchildren, Emily Scheibout, Jackson Amrol, Brad Hooper and Angela Hooper; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years Aleta (Merchant) Amrol in 1993.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 from 7pm- 9pm at the Bennett Funeral Home, at the 3 Church Street Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 12pm at St. Peters Church, 135 N. State Street, Concord. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Concord.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Concord Boys and Girls Club, 55 Bradley Street, Concord, NH 03301.
The Bennett Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of the arrangements.
