William was born on March 19, 1943 in San Francisco CA, and moved to NYC as a toddler. He lived most of his life in NYC, but also lived in both NJ and FL in his later years.
He is survived by his wife, Myrna, children Larry (Noreen) and Pamela, grandchildren Julianne and Michael, sister Miriam (Anthony), and brother Richard (Victoria) and many nieces and cousins. He was a man who loved life and his family. He maintained a positive outlook no matter how challenging the last few years were for him.
Throughout his life he was a gregarious, outgoing person, carrying himself with class and style. His exemplary work ethic created a template that, from an early age, his children were inspired by. He loved music all of his life and especially loved to sing along with his favorites, Frank Sinatra and Neil Diamond. He loved art and was passionate about horse racing and golf. He also loved collecting coins and watches. He loved good food and enjoyed family gatherings, especially when he could order for the whole table. He was a great storyteller and could easily amuse family and friends alike with his colorful stories and banter. He will be greatly missed by all that were close to him. Be it simply excited about the exploits of his kids and grandkids or dutifully following his Mets, as they constantly disappointed him, it will be the everyday things that we will miss him being a part of.
