Earlene Johnnita Sheehan St. Clair, age 68, of Conover, passed away peacefully at home on October 1, 2018 after a brave, five and a half year battle with kidney cancer. With her strong will to live, she fought every day to stay alive with the love and prayers from family and friends who carried her through this grueling disease.
She is survived by her loving husband, Keith St. Clair, who she met while visiting a friend in Argentina. They were married 47 years. She is also survived by her two children, Jennifer Baker and Keith St. Clair, Jr., and her four grandchildren, JennaMarie Baker, Jordan Baker, Julian Baker, and Brooklyn St. Clair. She is survived by one sister, Sherrie Meyer, in Australia.
She was born to the late John and Earlene Sheehan on October 2, 1949, in Memphis, TN. For the majority of her life, she lived in Miami, FL and moved to Hickory, NC 12 years ago. Her accomplishments include working at her father’s Buick dealership, helping to run the family Dairy Queens, and being a loving wife and mother. Her biggest achievement was her main passion for pottery. Her creativeness with handmade pottery and painting eventually lead her to be successful at craft shows and in two shops. Her favorite pieces to make were her Cancer Awareness Ribbon Angels. The world lost a special, beautiful person whose contagious laughter filled a room. Johnnita was a unique and caring person who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She always had a positive outlook and made people smile no matter what. There will be an empty spot left in our family’s hearts.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 12:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Newton, with Rev. James Collins officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the church.
