Albert Salinas, 96, passed away on Wednesday August 8, 2018 at his home in Brownsville, Texas. He leaves behind son Adolph Salinas’s, wife Patricia Salinas and daughter’s Sandra Salinas and Christi Hardison; his son Ernest M. Salinas; his daughter Lisa Rodriguez husband Frank Rodriguez, their daughter Mia Vasquez and son Joel Sanchez III; his daughter Teresa Salinas and son’s Christopher Sanchez, Jeremy Lockwood and daughter Ashlee Lopez. His grandson Larry Salinas; Albert also leaves behind siblings: Rudy Salinas, Anna Marie Rodriguez, Raymond Salinas and Richard Salinas.
Born at home on November 20, 1921 in Hochheim, Texas and raised in Shiner Texas, the son of Adolfo Salinas and Carmen Robledo. He was a lifelong resident of Texas.
In his early years he worked as a painter and body man before entering Mercedes-Benz. He met his wife Henrietta (Vicki) Marquez at a dance and swept her off her feet soon thereafter. He was well known by her family as the “Sugar-Boy.”
He served in the United States Army 636th Regiment Signal Battalion while in Italy during World War II. Mr. Salinas had a passion for hunting, fishing, cooking, dancing, and playing the bass guitar. Most people knew of him as the kind hearted gentleman. Albert never met a stranger. He made a point to talk to everyone and enjoyed telling stories.
Visitation for family will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road Conroe, Tx 77303 from 4:00pm-5:00pm and friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Monday, August 13, 2018.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Cashner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Adolph Salinas, Ernest M. Salinas, Frank Rodriguez, Joel Sanchez III, Chris Sanchez, and Jeremy Lockwood.
