Memorial service for Billy Wayne Iams, 40, of Houston, Texas will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Willis with Pastor Josh Gosney officiating. This is what he would have wanted.
Billy went home to be with the Lord on Christmas Day and we know he went dancing, praising and singing loudly as only Billy could.
He was born on December 24, 1978 in Houston, TX to Billie Iams and Pam Poland. He grew up in Houston until his sophomore year when he moved to Apache with his dad. He attended Apache High School his sophomore year and then transferred to Cyril High for his junior and senior year where he loved being a Cyril Pirates football player. He loved watching sports with his buddies, especially Texas Longhorns, OSU Cowboys and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Billy was very passionate in everything he did and was loyal to everyone he loved. He loved serving in all of the churches he had attended over time and was on fire for the Lord and spreading His Word. He especially enjoyed working with the youth and drama team. He loved fishing, spending time with family and making people smile and laugh.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billie Iams, and his grandfather, Marvin Preuss.
He is survived by his grandmother, Valda Preuss of Conroe, TX; his mother and stepfather, Pam and Jim Poland, of Conroe, TX; his sister, Vanessa Fitzgerald, of Lawton, OK; his niece, Mina Souhaili, of Lawton, OK and his nephew, Noah Souhaili, of Lawton,OK.
