Jaxine Ellis Harrell was born in Lovelady, Texas on May 16, 1926 and went to be with her Lord on February 9, 2021 at the age of 94. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and a loyal friend to many. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren who lovingly called her MawMaw. Jaxine was an excellent cook, an avid reader, valedictorian of her high school class, and a teller at First National Bank in Conroe for 25 years. She always had a big smile on her face, a wonderful giggle and kept a positive attitude in every situation she faced. She was a long time member of Conroe’s First Assembly of God church and loved her Lord with all her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Bertha Ellis, brothers Buck and Joe Ellis, sisters Joyce Elliott and Marie Giles, husband Truman Wallace Harrell, and son Foster Eugene Rutherford. She is survived by her son Clifton L. Rutherford, grandson Ryan Rutherford and wife Faith, granddaughter Hailey Miears and husband Aaron, great granddaughters Claire and Audrey Miears and Emily Presswood, great grandson Luke Miears, the mother of her grandchildren and dear friend Holly York, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be at Cashner Funeral Home on Saturday February 20, 2021 from 9:00 am-11:00. A private graveside will be held at Center Hill Cemetery in Lovelady, Texas.

The family would like to thank the staff at Harmony Assisted Living for the excellent care and tremendous love they gave Jaxine. We always felt like it was home regardless of how often we came. Even though we didn’t see Jaxine in the later years after my dad died. I still remember Jaxine fondly. She got my father out of the valley and for that I am grateful. May God’s grace be on all. Sincerely. Jane Dwyer

Dear Leon & Family, please accept my deepest sympathies on the passing of your beloved mother and MawMaw. She was a beautiful, blessed, absolute God sent treasure to me. Nothing gave me more joy than visiting with Jaxine. She was a great friend, encourager in our Faith and trusted confidant. I thank God we were neighbors and lived just a few houses apart. We literally would laugh and reminisce about the good ‘old days‘ in Conroe into the wee hours of the morning as we were both on the same sleep cycle. She always had me call her when I got home to be sure I made it safely. I learned so much from Jaxine, about persevering and total forgiveness....loved her sweet laugh, loved hearing all her stories about her childhood and young adult years. She was brilliant, a voracious reader, so dignified and a truly humble woman. I am so blessed and proud to have known your remarkable mother and though we are grieving now all our tears will be wiped away and one day soon we’ll have a glorious eternity with her and her darling Gene and our Perfect, All Wise Heavenly Father. She fought the ‘good fight’ and ran her ‘race’ with trust & confidence in her Savior. May God bless you Leon, Hailey, Ryan and all her sweet little great grands as well as her dear Holly, relatives and friends.

Jaxine was such a beautiful lady. She helped me in the bank line so many times. She was the best and so sweet.
