Juaniece “Snookie” Kelley, beloved wife, mother, and matriarch, passed away on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, at the age of 95. Snookie dedicated her life to her family, primarily as a devoted housewife. However, she also lent her talents to her husband MJ's construction company, where she managed payroll and fearlessly drove a dump truck alongside him.
She was a cherished mother to her son Danny Kelley and twin daughters, Loyce Kelley and Joyce Marcantel. Snookie's nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family; she was lovingly known as "Granny" to all, regardless of blood ties.
Snookie's legacy is marked by her thoughtfulness and creativity. She delighted in creating annual calendars for her loved ones, a tradition that began in 1967, showcasing her enduring love and attention to detail. In her youth, she found joy in crafting quilts and clothing, skills she shared with those around her. Gardening with her husband brought her immense happiness, as did spending quality time with her cherished family.
Her warmth, generosity, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Snookie's memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration for generations to come.
Snookie is survived by her daughters Loyce Kelley and Joyce Marcantel; and her son Danny Kelley; her sister Nan Sunday and her brother Donnie Sutton; her grandchildren Mark Ammons and wife Melinda, Traci Hunter and husband Michael, David Baker, Tami Martin and husband Eric, Amber Henderson and husband Chad and Kris Nash and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren along with other family members and friends.
Snookie was preceded in death by her husband M.J. Kelley; sister Ercell Hulon; her brothers Raymond Brown and Lonnie Sutton and her granddaughter's husband Scottie Nash.
