Sorry this is late however I had to wrap my head around this whole thing. I knew Vance in High School back in the old Santa Monica days. I always liked that he was a very good drummer and could really carry a beat, in fast one time I heard him and James Baker play together a couple times and I remember how professional they sounded just for kids I was very impressed. Then after sometime Vance and I were going to church together for several years and we got back in touch with James Baker which was good. Vance liked total freedom and wanted to be left alone on most topics and he loved talking about the Bible and Harley Davidsons. Not because I am writing and he has passed away but he was a strong impression on my life in many ways and I will miss his humor and great laugh ......... Miss you Vance see you someday in Heaven God Bless Brrother..........

I didn't know Vance long, I lived with him for about a year, in Mar Vista. Always enjoyed our conversations, and sometimes riding bicycles from Venice to Manhattan beach. I remember one day, walking into the kitchen, and Vance sitting at the table, then asking me "Mike, what are we doing with our lives?". Our lives did seem to be in a "holding pattern" at the time. We then had a good conversation about faith, what it means to "live a good life", and stuff that really matters. I found his obit while searching for him online to see if I could perhaps get back in touch, see where his life had taken him. I wish I could have shared with him the fact that I finally learned to ride a motorcycle, and that I went back to school and finished a graduate degree. Rest in peace, Vance, old short-term roomie. You were one of my best roommates (and I've had quite a few). Sorry I stole your frozen pizza that one time when I was broke. (I think he forgave me--he was a forgiving and thoughtful guy). Grace and Peace to his friends and family. Pax optima rerum.

Vance and his family have my prayers. He was a special human being - full of laughter and irreverence and yet grew to become quite a Christian and caring person. He was my brother's friend and drummer and I enjoyed his company immensely. God bless you Vance.
