Robert Thomas Jancsek was born on October 17, 1946 at Bethesda hospital in St. Paul prematurely, weighing only 4 Lbs, 13ozs. The first son, second child of Joseph Adam Jancsek and Edna Haug Jancsek of St. Paul.
Survived by Wife, Alice; Sons, Jason and Christopher; Granddaughter, Jillian; Sisters, Carol (Jerry) Brown, Lois Bergerson and Brother, John (Shelly) Jancsek.
Residing in Falcon Heights during his formative years, he had a great many friends in the neighborhood and often spoke of adventures and sports played with John Labalestra and the Worley kids. Bob loved baseball and hockey, bike riding and eating apples and kohlrabi appropriated from neighborhood gardens.
Bob attended St. Paul Ramsey High School, graduating in 1964. He loved playing his guitar with his pals in the group “The Thundertones” and driving cars fast and far, his favorites being the '69 Mustang Mach I, '69 Cutlas, '76 Grand Prix, '81 'Vet and his beloved 1996 Dodge Ram truck. Bob served in the Air Force Weather Service in Texas, Michigan and the Azores Islands returning to Minnesota to pursue his career in cabinetry design, creating useful and beautiful homes for many.
Meeting Alice Scholer after the Service, they have been married for 50 years, enjoying fishing and golf and traveling to Cozumel.
Bob's life was cut short by the ravages of Alzheimer's and Third-degree Antrioventricular Heart failure.
A special THANKS to the dedicated State of the Minnesota Veterans Home employees that made Bob's final two years safe, comfortable and peaceful and were so kind and caring to his family.
This kind and gentle man will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
