Marianne was born on August 24,1946, in Middletown, New Jersey. The oldest of five children, she was both caring protector and teasing pesterer of her beloved brothers and sister, Stanley, Eddie, Jenny and Bobby. After graduating from Middletown High School in 1964, Marianne was eager to leave her small town and literally joined the circus; she became the caretaker of the child of carnival owners and moved with them to Dallas. She met and married her first husband in 1966 and had her daughter, Patricia Haley, in 1968.
In the same year she began her lengthy and rewarding career at Mary Kay Cosmetics- these were indeed some of the most fulfilling years of her life, having risen through the ranks from bookkeeper to the Head of Consultant Records. She cared greatly for the people she worked with and for, especially her boss, Bruce Wilke, who was both a colleague and confidant.
Marianne then had the great fortune of meeting the love of her life, Jack A. Deichert, in 1984. On their first date, they both brought their children; little did Jack know, Marianne and Tish had a secret signal if the date was going poorly. Unfortunately for the two kids, the signal never came. The date was a resounding success and the children had to endure the gooeyness of witnessing their parents fall in love. Marianne and Jack married in 1989 and she became the proud stepmother to Jack Jr., who she regarded as her own son.
Marianne is remembered by all that knew and loved her as a sharp wit, an honest friend, and a realist who suffered no fools. She adored cats, her garden, spending time with family, and her famous practical jokes.
She leaves behind her husband Jack Deichert; her daughter Tish and her partner Ian; her son Jack, Jr., and his wife Sasha; her grandchild Damien; her brothers Stanley, Eddie, and Bobby; her sister Jenny; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews; and many, many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Stanley Bastelli.
A celebration of Marianne’s life will take place at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home on Friday, December 13, 2019, at 11:00 am with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
