Karla Ann (Short) Charette, 68 of Copperas Cove, passed away Friday, 5th of February 2021 in her home in Copperas Cove, Texas.

Viewing will be held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove Sunday, February 21st from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Funeral will be held at Crawford Bower Funeral Home in Copperas Cove on Monday, February 22nd at 10:00 a.m.

Following the service Karla and George Charette will be laid to rest at the Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

Reception will be at American Legion Post 573 in Harker Heights following the services.

Karla Charette was born August 20, 1952 in Moline, Illinois to Clarence (Sam) Short and Anita Short. Growing up in a military family she traveled all over the world. In Hanau Germany, at the age of 14, she met and fell in love with George Edward Charette. They later married and had four beautiful children and then adopted another. Over the next half century Karla pursued her passions in nursing, marshall arts, photography, and modeling; all while being the best Army wife any soldier could have asked for.

She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Anita Short, her daughter in law Bonnie Charette, and her soul mate George Edward Charette.

Karla is survived by her children Master Sergeant George S. Charette USAF, Selina and Travis Huggard, Jason Charette, Christopher-je'an Charette, and Tabitha N. Charette, as well as her brothers Jeff Short, Mike D. Short and Mike S. And Christine Short, her 12 Beloved grandchildren, and to many nieces, nephews and cousins, and family to mention but, were loved all the same.

Leaving this world as a loving mother, amazing grandmother, and a wonderful friend. She will be greatly missed by everybody that knew her and all lives that she has touched.
