Funeral services for Bill McGaughy, 75 are set for 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Church of the Crossroads. With Bro. Eddie McFalls, Bro. Nelson Hight is officiating and Merl Sanders doing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Henry Cemetery.
Mr. McGaughy died at his residence on Monday November 26, 2012 after an extended illness. He was born August 27, 1937 in Prentiss Co to the late Lester and Gladys Chase McGaughy. At the age 14 and after the death of his father, Bill went to work for a company in Chicago, IL. but was later transferred to California. In 1964 Bill moved back to Corinth and started to work for Tyrone Hydraulics. He had a very successful career with them and worked at many management positions until his retirement in 1995. After retirement he and his wife Betty owned and managed Tel-Eye International and several small loan companies. Bill was diagnosed with cancer soon afterward in 2007, he never less remained positive and fought a strong battle with the disease until his death. Bill was a member of Church of the Crossroads in Corinth. Bill’s greatest enjoyment in life was the times spent with his family. His favorite hobby was talking care of his farm and his property.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Donnie Wolf.
He is survived by his wife Betty McMeans McGaughy of Corinth, MS. son Tim (Kim) McGaughy of Booneville, MS. daughters Angella (Tim) Hilbun of Vicksburg, MS. Michelle Frazier of Corinth, MS. and Charlotte (Eddie) Sax, brother Donald (Dorothy) McGaughy of Corinth, MS. Grandchildren Blake Frazier, Shira and Ariel Sax, Kelsey Stacy, T.J. (Katie) McGaughy, great granddaughter Lylah Grey McGaughy, son-in-law Kendall Frazier, special nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 9 at Memorial Funeral Home and Thursday 12 to service time at the church
