Celebration of Life Service for Billy G. Hivley 82, are set for 1:00 PM Friday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Warren Jones and Bro. Joe Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
A receiving of family and friends for Billy will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday, November 22, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM
Billy died November 19, 2019 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 25, 1937 in Alcorn Co. MS. to the late Willie and Ruth Mullins Hivley. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Crossroads Baptist Church prior to his illness. Billy was a factory worker until becoming disabled. He was a loving husband, father and pawpaw that enjoyed spending time with his family that he affectionally called his babies. He tried to let everyone know that he loved them until he left this world. “Be humble and kind” are the words he lived by.
He was preceded in death by parents; brothers Jodie and Kenneth Hivley; grandsons, Jamie and John Weatherbee.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna Sue Hivley; sons, Keith Hivley (Lisa), Paul Moore (Sylvia); daughters, Paula Moore Grimes (Chris), Carol Brawner, Julie Weatherbee Hatfield (Danny); his grandchildren, Sara Surratt Langston, Brandy McAllister (Scotty), Alex Grimes (Heather), Jay Moore, Tyler Moore, Randy Jones (Bridgette), Rodney Jones (Christy); nine great grandchildren; sister, Faye Palmer (Robert); host of other family, friends and adopted family.
