Funeral services with military honors for John D. “Bill” Wammack 93 are set for 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dusty Wammack and Rev. Warren Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Corinth National Cemetery.
Mr. Wammack died March 6, 2014 in Corinth, MS. He was born February 5, 1921 in Alcorn Co. to the late Dee and Zella Wammack. He began working at an early age delivering telegrams, served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII and US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He later was a fireman for the City of Corinth and drove a Greyhound Bus, he retired from Dana after 31 years, after retirement he had a booth at the flea market for 31 years. Was a member of the American Legion and West Corinth Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his wife Loraine, Parents, brother J.C. (Betty) Wammack, sisters Louise Lloyd, Etta Mae Voncannon.
Survived by his daughter Nancy (Danny) McGee of Corinth, MS. son Doug (Barbara) Wammack of Augusta, GA., grandchildren Denece (Cliff) Reynolds, Dusty (Megan) Wammack, Justin Wammack, great grandchildren Alise Castile, Jake Reynolds, Emma Kate Parker. Host of other family and friends.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 to service time Saturday
