Amy was born on February 26, 1927 in Sacramento, California, the fifth child and only daughter to Toshio Irving Koshiba and Kuma Koshiba.
During World War II, the family was removed to War Relocation Centers (Internment Camps); first to Manzanar in California and then to Heart Mountain in Wyoming. Upon release the family moved to Columbus, Ohio.
Amy was married in October of 1949 to Katsumi (Elmer) Wakamatsu and gave birth to son Keith in Chicago, Illinois in 1952. The family then moved to California, settling first in Gardena, California and son Dudley was born in 1956.
The family then moved to Anaheim, California in 1960 where Amy spent her remaining 59 years in the house on Puritan Circle.
Amy was interred March 25, 2019, at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, California next to her husband.
