Lupe was a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Sinton, TX.
Lupe had to leave his education behind in the 8th grade to help provide for his family but he did receive a General Ed Degree in June 2005. Lupe started his own sign making business, Gulf Coast Outdoor Advertising, spanning over 40 years, retiring in 2004.
He was very involved with the church, starting in his younger years as a choir member, usher, a member of St. Joseph's Men Society and church credit union representative. In his later years he became Minister of the Eucharist, a Lecturer and a CCD teacher. He used the gifts that God gave him to help promote church functions by donating his time and talents to make signs for religious events. He was also very dedicated to the Cursillo Movement for many years, coordinating his last retreat in 2012.
Lupe will be dearly missed by the church community he helped and the family and friends that were a huge part of his life.
Lupe will be forever remembered by his wife, Irma, to whom he would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary, June 13th.
Lupe is survived by his children: Carlos (Yolanda), Mario (Liz), Rene (Michelle), Monica and Adrian; he also leaves behind to cherish his memories, his sister, Cipriana (Aldolfo) Vergara, his niece, Claudia, his first & second cousins, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lupe will also be forever remembered by his extended family and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
