JD "Chick" West

JD retired after 30 years with the Department of Public Safety and worked 10 years with the Transport Company of Texas. He was a devout Baptist and proud member of the Shrines for 40 years. He served his country in the United States Navy 1948-1950.

JD was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be remembered for always having a joke but never a bad word for anyone. He was outgoing and an avid outdoorsmen.

JD is preceded in death by his parents, George and Julia Bahannon West; and first wife, Lucille West.

He leaves his loving memories to his second wife, Patsy J. West; sons, David West (Betsy), Jerry West (Barbara); grandchildren, Ashley Viveros, Lauren Hayward; five great grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Cox and Imogene Byrd of Georgetown, Texas.

Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.

Continued visitation will be held at Heritage Baptist Church on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with a

Funeral Service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
